Summary: Love it!
Comment: I got this trash can last month and I love it. The only thing I noticed is that since the lid isn't completely airtight, I had a small fruit fly incident once. But it still gets 5 stars.

Summary: Still love this thing...
Comment: I've had this product in my kitchen for some months now, and I love it as much as the first day I got it. It's an awesome addition to my kitchen. The only drawback I've had is when the bag is too heavy, the brace slips off it's lip. Still an awesome product tho...

Summary: Lasted less than a year. Not worth the money.
Comment: I bought this trash can and it was great while it lasted, but it only went about 10 months. It no longer operates. Once in awhile the lid will go up, but then it stays up. I did the idiot check and replaced the batteries....no good. I won't buy this again.

Summary: Looks Nice and Works Well
Comment: I have had different kitchen trash cans over the years. The last few were plastic and not well made. They used tiny springs that would break or the little plastic piece that the spring fit on would break off. So, I tried the iTouchless and I am glad I did. This trash can not only looks nice, but works well also with the automatic lid.
The can takes 13 to 18 gallon plastic trash liners. Since, most of us have 13 gallon I found a problem. There is a ring that the liner wraps around so the liner does not show which gives a clean appearance. If you use the 13 gallon liners and fill it with heavy trash then the liner can slip off the holding ring and sink to the bottom of the can. If this happens to you, then use some Styrofoam or bubble wrap about 4 inches high and keep it in the bottom of the can. As for the retaining ring, this is a little tricky. There is a slightly raised ridge inside the can where you wrap the liner around the ring and place it just above the ridge. If you press down too far the ring and liner will fall to the bottom. However, after a few times you get the hang of placing the ring correctly.
The lid mechanism when it opens and closes is actually quieter than a metal can with a foot pedal. The sensor works well. You get within 5 to 6 inches and the lid opens. I also like that you can press the open button and the lid stays open until you press close. Plus, you can turn off the whole thing with a switch.
The lid holds the motorized mechanism, batteries, sensor and controls. Therefore, you lose some space in the opening. The opening is about 7x9 inches. However, this is still enough room for all but the real large items.
There is room for improvement like making the ridge holding the retaining ring a little larger. But, overall this is a very nice looking and functional kitchen trash can.
Update: I solved the problem of the liner slipping off the retaining ring. Simply tie a knot in the opening of the plastic liner. Then the liner will fit tight and not come off the ring.
