Useful: HTML Authoring Software
Before you decide on an HTML authoring program, you need to realize that there are a number of types available:
- Text Editors - These programs
are actually nothing more than word processing programs.
In fact, WordPerfect, Word, even Notepad can be used as text
editors. To use the program, you simply type the HTML instructions
for how you want the site to look. Obviously, these programs
require a strong knowledge of HTML.
- HTML Editors - This type
of software is similar to text editors but they also include
features which make designing sites with them easier, such
as color-coded HTML tags, Javascript, and CGI scrips. Some
also include FTPs (file transfer programs) for site publishing.
While these programs do require knowledge of HTML, they are
accessible even for novices.
