The padding is not as nice as you'd find on commercial kickers, but you can't beat the price if this tool will be used infrequently. The kicker grabs the carpet extremely well. The construction of the item is made of metal and Thick Metal Spikes and Ridges + the packaging is kinda crappy but for 30 bucks its worth it.

I'd searched locally at the Lowes for one to no avail...did finally find a couple different ones for close to $100. I only needed one to kick in 1 room of carpet and was so happy to find one here on Amazon for 1/4 of that price. I even received it days before I was scheduled to. It is solidly built and grips the carpet well. I would have given it 5-stars except for two small details. 1) The knee pad could be a little firmer. The one installed collapses more than I would like when struck. 2) The head should be bent down a little further in the operating position.
