Summary: Could have been better
Comment: Despite all the Gears of War hype, the truth is, this could have been a better game. The biggest problem is that it really isn't an improvement over the first game. There are very few additional weapons in this game, but none of them is really practical or likely to be used. No new enemies(They even remove the beserkers), unless you count the one using the flamethrower and a few enemies from the first game are now more fightable, maybe one or two newer environments along with as a bunch of the familiar ones, no new characters (they even recycle one of the characters from the first who died by using one of his identically dressed brothers), no new plot devices or team goals.
They have some parts that utilize a tank you drive to shake things up, but this is very similar to the first ones car driving scene. They have you actually fly a reaver, although you only can shoot, not drive. They also have you ride a brumak, which can be a fun experience although shortlived. Since the path is very linear, you don't get to have any room for movement, so there is no much movement in the tank or brumak except forward.
Play, or get, this movie for the story. I love the combat, so it was not horrible that they didn't mess with it too much. Adding stuff, like one time usable items or something wouldn't have hurt. The story is incomplete, and is just short of being considered a cliffhanger, leaving many unanswered questions that strongly suggest a three. The story was good, the game was good, but it really is the same old. If you enjoyed the comical banter along the way, the rough characters, and the over the top gore, this might be worth it. Buy this OR gears of war 1, rent the other, since they are pretty much the same game.

Summary: Gears of War 2
Comment: Gears 2 is one of the most fun games I have ever played for the Xbox 360 it has everything you need to sit back and rev up the lancer and kill the some locust. The weapons are more powerful, the graphics have deeper environments and more color. The online play still doesn't impress me because it lags and it takes to long to kill someone but this game is worth every nickel and dime because this game has more to offer then any game I have played.

Summary: A great Sequel
Comment: Although gears is very similar to the first game in the series, it still rocks. The campaign is longer and has a better story and the multiplayer has been improved with the addition of matchmaking and an actual party system.

Summary: Two Word - Horde Mode!
Comment: Great followup to the Gears 1. I liked the single player campaign much better than gears 1. The graphics on a Hi-Def tv are insane so get yourself a hi-def tv, make sure you xbox video cable is set to hi-def, make sure your dashboard is set to 720p or 1080p and play this game.
Now, onto HORDE MODE! Wow, what a mode.... basically, you and and 5 others take on tons of baddies. It gets really fun when the tougher baddies start rolling in. This game is worth the price of admission just for this multiplayer mode.

Summary: Amazing!
Comment: This is truly an incredible game! I could not recommend it any more. I really haven't had this much fun playing with my friends for a long time. I highly recommend it. The graphics are amazing. The sounds are all memorable and natural, but the gameplay is where it's at! There are many different weapons with each their own strength and weakness that are all a blast to use. The game is wonderfully violent and a good stress release. Needless to say, there is nothing like chain-sawing your opponent in two while blood splatters over the screen. It never gets old, and never will.
